Long-standing members of our Board of Directors!

Long-standing members of our Board of Directors!

Kim Huynh started as a youth participant as part of GRuB's youth program. Kim's background is in community youth development and cybersecurity. She works at Microsoft to support research to enable protections for ransomware for 1 billion devices across the world. She is passionate about advocating for diversity and inclusion in STEAM and believes that access to food is a human right. Kim asks thoughtful questions and listens deeply, and we’re grateful that she is our Board Vice President.

Kathy Berndt is a retired pediatric nurse practitioner with 35+ years of experience in health care for children of all ages, including at-risk adolescents. She has worked with the forensic evaluation of child sexual assault victims and helped launch the Nurse Examiner Program at Providence St Peter’s ER evaluating women who were sexually assaulted. She is committed to GRuB because of its work that creates a nurturing environment for the communities it serves. Kathy serves as the chair of our Board Cultivation Committee, and brings qualities of perseverance and warmth to connect GRuB with businesses and friends across the community.

Chris Campbell shares with us that the west coast has been her home her entire life. She’s lived in Nevada's high Sierra mountains, San Diego & Santa Cruz but has nested in Olympia since 2001. Chris is a banker by profession, artist for fun, and creative force in her soul! We are grateful for the many ways that Chris has brought key perspectives and fresh ideas to our Board Finance Committee.

We are also grateful for Angela Jefferson, who just left our board.  Angela is a retired Major of the US Army, where she served for 25 years. She currently serves on the Tumwater City Council, as well as being a Certified Personal Trainer, a Senior Fitness Instructor, and a Licensed Massage Therapist. Angela is an amazing networker, and was always eager to share the story of GRuB’s impact and bring people to the GRuB farm!
