Pollination Partners & Projects

GRuB has a successful history of sharing our model and best practices with organizations and institutions throughout the US and beyond. We call this work Pollination.Below is information on the six programs in the region that we have partnered with most closely, or pollinated. They all offer Grub-like programming to youth in their communities. If you are interested partnering with GRuB and learning what we can offer, click here.

  • Cultivating Roots is located in Aberdeen, WA and run by the Grays Harbor County Health Department. Cultivating Roots built a garden in a low-income housing community where they successfully hosted their first summer program in 2014. Now in their second summer of youth programming, students and neighbors tend the gardens, grow food for low-income families, and look forward to expanding!

  • HOPE Garden Project in Shelton, WA is an organization serving youth in Mason County. They are partnered with Mason Matters, CHOICE High School, and Mason General Hospital, where they have their site. In 2014 they expanded from a summer-only program to a a year-round program, as well as expanding from a garden to a farm.
  • LEaF (Learning Environments at Farms) is a developing project in Pacific County. The project is a partnership between the Sea School Cooperative and local farms and community members. They have been informally providing youth employment since Spring 2014 and are building towards a more formal program in 2015.
  • Freedom Farmers in Olympia, WA is a program within the Olympia School District for students at Olympia High School. The Freedom Farmers tend a one acre farm and in 2014 grew an amazing 11,000 lbs for the OSD nutrition program, as well as for SafePlace.
