Looking for a creative way to sponsor GRuB’s Cultivating Youth Employment Program this coming growing season? Enjoy eating fantastic food? Love fresh bouquets of flowers? Well, we have opportunities just for you!
This coming summer, GRuB will be expanding our youth employment program to serve 20+ low-income youth from across Thurston County. That means more youth from our community will have the opportunity to discover hidden talents, grow as leaders, and ultimately utilize farming as a means to transform their lives. This also means more youth, many of whom struggle with issues of malnutrition and hunger, will be bringing great food home each week. One challenge we are facing because of this growth is the additional pressure it places on our small farm. Having more food available for a larger pool of youth and their families means we'll have less food available to market to the greater community. With some creative planning, we at GRuB are proud to offer a new version of our marketing programs. Find out more on the farm page...
UPDATE:Farmhouse Construction continues
[Photo] The GRuB farmhouse building project as of March 2008.
If you've passed by the GRuB Farm recently, you may have noticed that construction on the new Farmhouse is underway! We're using a crazy-cool "green" product for the first floor walls called Faswall. If you plan on stopping by the Farm in the coming months, we'd like to ask that you enter from Elliott Ave rather than Bing Ct. so we can ensure your safety and that of our great construction crew. If you're interested in volunteering with parts of the project as they come up, fill out your volunteer paperwork and sign up for the Volunteer News so we can keep you informed.
