Fundraising & Marketing Assistant

Status:  Internship Position – Minimum Winter Quarter, to continue into Spring if feasible
Hours: 12-20 hours/week, Monday – Friday, occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
Supervisor: Community Engagement Coordinator

Position Description:
The Fundraising & Marketing Assistant gains hands-on experience in the inner workings of a small, collaborative, community-minded non-profit. This position serves as vital support for the administrative staff, particularly for the Community Engagement Coordinator (CEC). The CEC coordinates and manages GRuB’s volunteer and community-based fundraising programs, cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with all of GRuB’s donors and volunteers. The Fundraising & Marketing Assistant will support the CEC in meeting organizational fundraising & outreach goals, working primarily with community-based fundraising, events and volunteers. The intern may also support in occasional marketing tasks. These positions require flexibility, a high attention to detail, self-direction, and creative problem-solving. The Fundraising & Marketing Assistant is a part-time, support staff position being offered as an unpaid internship.

KEY Position Responsibilities:

  • Support with grant research, reporting, and applications
  • Support with donor and volunteer intake & recruiting
  • Support with special event planning & coordination (1 large community events & several smaller intimate events, may include some evenings & weekends)
  • Support with volunteer newsletter, web & print marketing, (primarily Facebook, Website, & Twitter)
  • Outreach support
  • Representing GRuB by tabling and/or speaking at events hosted by other organizations in the community
  • Database entry & reports
  • Occasional fundraising research
  • Filing
  • Copy/collation/mailing support
  • Active participation in GRuB’s “Collaborative Communication” culture
